What is your product and who is it for?
Enviriwise is an environmental app created to help raise awareness of the climate crisis, as well as to encourage people to help. It is targeted at 10-25 year olds to establish positive routines and introduce healthy habits.
What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?
We walk and cycle to school everyday and witness firsthand the amount of plastic waste and litter on the streets of Kempston and Bedford. We don’t want the younger children in our community, or anywhere, to have to grow up and live in a world where there is plastic pollution everywhere you look. They should be allowed to grow up in a community that takes action against littering and the global warming emergency. This is very important to us as we don’t want younger children, such as my brother, growing up in these conditions.
How does your product solve the problem?
Our product addresses environmental issues faced in our daily alongside establishing good routines. It also ensures that people stay informed and updated on recycling practices.
How does it work?
The 'Report' feature allows you to report waste dumping, burning or other issues. You can also report service problems in your area anonymously, which is then sent to the nearest council.
The '#ALL THE LATEST' feature allows you to expand and test your knowledge on the environment, all whilst having fun.
The 'Near me' locator finds nearby disposal and sustainable product locations.
The 'Rewards' and 'Leaderboard' features allow you to track XP earned from '#ALL THE LATEST' and other features. You can view it on the leaderboard and earn prizes.
